Sports Scholarships USA
Your Visa
Students attending the International Showcase do
not require a visa if they are eligible for the visa
waiver program. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria
for the visa waiver program you must obtain a tourist visa B1/B2
from the US consulate.
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables nationals of certain
countries, including Australia, New Zealand, and the U.K., to
travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays
of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa, if certain requirements
are met. Under the VWP, time spent in Canada, Mexico, and adjacent
islands counts towards the maximum of 90 days stay allowed under
the program.
If, after attending the International Showcase, the candidate
accepts a Scholarship offer and decides to study in the USA,
the host institution will send an I-20 Form (required by the
U.S.A. Embassy) to obtain the student visa.
Obtaining the visa remains the sole responsibility of the
student although SPA & IDEA supports the candidate and the
institution throughout this process.
In the event a visa application is declined a refund
policy applies.
